Welcome ladies and gentleman to a very special edition of The Music Corner. Today I plan on informing you about my adventure at Club Paradise and what an event it was. Before I go into detail, like a commentator, I want to shout out everyone that was at the Verizon Center on May 25th, everyone who has seen Drake live or will see him live. Cora, I hope you get to experience what I did. Now let’s get to it.
I went to Club Paradise with my friend Jocelyn and we got to the center around 6:50 and the concert was already starting to get pack. The diversity of the concert was crazy as there were parents and kids, teens, young adults and I even saw a couple of grandparents in the building as well. After I buy my friend a seat, we go up the escalator to our section, (which was 205, keep that in mind) and to my surprise, 2 Chainz was already performing before 7:00. To me it was incredible to see that a concert started early or on time. That’s truly something you do not see every day.
Once we got seated, the first song we heard 2 Chainz do was beez in the Trap and the forming crowd went into a frenzy. 2 Chainz kept the crowd on its feet by doing Spend it and man I felt like I was A&T as I was beefing it up and what makes it funny is that no one in the DMV knows what that is so I was looking pretty stupid. But guess what while I was doing it, IDGAF. He then took it back by doing the Playas Circle hit, Duffle Bag Boy and to my surprise a lot of people was like “This was 2 Chainz??” and was singing along. 2 Chainz then did Riot and yet again we was too TURNT UP. Everyone in harmony was singing “I’m a start a RIOT, I’m a start a RIOT.” He then left the stage on the K.O. instrumental as he told the crowd the date for his debut album, Based on a T.R.U. Story. Even though his performance was dope and we probably missed half of his set, it was definitely TRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!
Next up was the MMG’s own, Meek Mill. He started off by showing love and went into the Rozay anthem, BMF. By the time Meek came up, more of the crowd had appeared so everyone was saying Larry Hoover. He then was like, “DC, it was my birthday last week so you know what, let’s throw a party.” We then started going crazy as he dropped House Party. He did I’m a Boss and just like that his set was over.
Then Waka Flocka Flame came out and wrecked house. He really is a great performer because the moment he stepped on the stage he as well as the live band he had had the arena’s undivided attention. He came out singing Bustin at em and in harmony the whole crowd was saying “BOW BOW BOW.” Then his drummer started doing the beat to wild boy and all hell broke loose. The energy in the building intensified 10 fold as I was like my boys from school would lose it if they heard this live. Then he did Grove ST Party and by that time, it became a party as everyone in the building went nuts and it continued as hard in the paint came on. He closed out his set with no hands and the best part was the crowd sung Wale verse. Then he told the crowd to support his album on June 13th.
As J. Cole’s set was coming up, people who saw me live tweeting the show was asking questions like who had the best set and what not and at the time it was Flocka hands down. So since I already saw Cole a month ago, I was hype but I still wanted to see a great show. He came with the live band and did Dollar and a Dream III. A couple people around me had the diamond up as he did Who Dat. He then did blow up, but when he Nobody’s perfect, the crowd got on their feet and went psycho. The band then used the voice box as the band did The chorus for No Church in the wild and then he did Work Out. He did his verse of party and thought it was over but then he did In the morning and everybody hope that Drake would come out but it wasn’t the case. He closed the set with Can’t get enough and got the crowd hyped by saying “Y’all ready to see my brother Drizzy Drake”.
So Drake’s camp was setting up, the whole building is in a state of anticipation as girls are acting up, trying to get chose as there were a lot of beautiful people in the building, amen. Then at 9:35 after waiting about 25 minutes, the lights go dark as everyone and their mother went insane. The band starts performing Lord Knows and the screams started to increase but the moments that he stepped out on stage, it was overwhelming. After spitting his verse, he then introduces himself as if he even needed one. He Does Under Ground Kings and afterwards he addresses us and tells us that DC is like home to him and even though he took a few days off, he had to do this show right here. Then he drops I’m on one, and all you heard was “I’M GETTING SO THROWED!!!” Next he did over and the energy seemed like it had no limits. Then he goes into storytelling mode “it’s about 1:30 in the morning, you just want to have a good time, you got your boys with you” and then hear the band start playing the crew. The crowd was singing the Weeknd’s part and when Drake rapped, all the lights was used like stars and it was very beautiful. Then he did She Will and let me tell you, she will live is incredible and as the beat kept playing he rapped his verse from the zone. He then did up all night and led into We’ll Be Fine were he said “The fam here, the drinks, DMV here well f*ck let’s get it then” and the place was jumping. After that he was like “you know the industry can be very shady and you know what, f it” and No lie dropped as my whole section went bananas. After the song, he showed to 2 Chainz and then he kept it going by storytelling “you you there are some days where you are so f*cked up and you want this guy with you” Then you hear Flocka burp and the crowd knew what was up. He took it back to forever and then went into Marvin’s Room. That is also a great song to see live. Trust issues came and to all the critics who say drake can’t sing live needs to see him now. By that point most of the girls in my section were crying. He followed up with Take care and cameras. Afterwards he does the chorus for his favorite track on so far gone, uptown. He then states “there are some people who don’t give a f*ck and are true about what they do so let me bring out my brother” Amen comes on and him and Meek Murder it. He then took a shot at Pusha T by saying “if you was doing’ 16s, when I was 16 and your sh*t flopped and you switch teams. Dont talk to me my n*gga…” and with that into what he considers the realest record out in “Stay Schemin”. I started to think if he do Miss me since I had on my Do right and kill Everything shirt. The moment that thought entered my mind, that beat dropped and I went crazy. Afterwards for 10-15 minutes by shouting out beautiful women, and certain sections including 205!!!! He starts singing over my dead body and gave a speech on how he does songs for women, which led to make me proud. Afterwards he did practice and remember when he wanted girls to send them videos of them practicing, it was used for the tour and man those girls were BEAUTIFUL. He did HYFR and did his thing on it. In his final story, he said “how a girl wanted to take a pic with him ” and his response was “now she want a photo, you already know though, you only live one, that’s the motto n*gga YOLO.” He then closes the show out with Headlines. It was truly a concert to remember, he said when he comes back to DC, he might bring Wayne or Nicki with him.
Hope you enjoy the review and I encourage everyone to see him live one day. If you don’t like drake then forget you.
Always have to show love to my girl Cora, follow her @Cora_Lynette and I hope she sees the show. Until next review Be Blessed, Stay Dope and Keep it G.

So today I was looking at mixtapes on Livemixtapes.com and I saw a mixtape titled Songs About Her I liked the title so I decided to start listening and I instantly fell in love. Only thing I know about Emanny thus far is what he has posted in his Facebook page and that “I am a simple complicated man who loves music. That’s all you need to know lol” That doesn’t really explain much but with a little research I’ve found out that he’s a singer and songwriter on the come up and Songs About Her is not just a mixtape but it’s his EP.
Listening to Emanny he is a mix of old Drake and The Weeknd but with better vocal qualities. Don’t get me wrong, The Weeknd can sing but Emanny has a more smooth mellow tone. His into So Far Away really brings in the over all tone of the EP, soothing to the ears but not only something a female can listen to but also a mixtape that a dude canreminisce about a old love over, hints the title. The second song Wrong Impression featuring Emilio Rojas has a strong hook with the lyrics saying ” You got me fucked up”. I personally like this song because its real. Emanny also does a 2012 version of Liberian Girl , originally recorded by the late Michael Jackson. Now most people can not do a remake of MJ’s songs but I can honestly say that he sounds really good, better than most could do in my book. Then Emanny has a song that really touches me and its called Fuck You Bitch , the song is pretty much talking about how a girl used him so bad then he had his breaking point and had to let her go. I guess I really like this song because I’ve recently went through something like this but with a guy.
Now if you aren’t convinced that this mixtape is good, take a listen to it for yourself and I guarantee that you fall in love with Emanny lyrics. I give this mixtape a 8 out of 10! I just would like to see more variety from Emanny but other than that I fell like he has a great chance in the industry.

So recently I’ve noticed that there are a lot of trends and styles going on but no one is making their own but are simply copying what they see on the internet… is that considered fashion?
Okay so recently I was on Twitter and a girl tweeted that NO ONE from my area was “fashion forward”, but in my opinion no one is ”fashion forward” because if I’m not mistaken everyone has been dressing like their from the 70’s,80’s and 90’s for the past few years. I can honestly say that people from my area tend to be behind on trends but I live in the country where life is carefree. If I lived in a large metro area where there were people come miles and miles to stay then I would understand what she was saying. A large amount people in my area have learned how to dress by traveling outside of the city and to other places and some learned how to dress straight from TUMBLR.
